易World Brain Tumor Day observed on June 8, 2020

易A tumour is an abnormal lump or growth of cells.

Benign :- If the cells in the tumour are normal

Malignant :- If the cells are abnormal and start growing uncontrollably

World Day Against Child Labour (WDACL) was observed on June 12, 2020

National Consultation Workshop on Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Rescue and Rehabilitation of Child Labour in New Delhi.

Census 2011 of India depicted a decline in child labour. It has come down to 1.01 crore as compared to 1.26 crore in 2001.

Article 24 states that a child under 14 years cannot be employed to perform any hazardous work.

World Sickle Cell Awareness Day

 This year the Sickle Cell Society is celebrating 40 years of working in the sickle cell community.

World Sickle Cell Day is a United Nation’s recognised day to raise awareness of sickle cell at a national and international level. On 22nd December 2008, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution that recognises sickle cell disease as a public health problem and “one of the world’s foremost genetic diseases.” The resolution calls for members to raise awareness of sickle cell on June 19th of each year at national and international level.
